Aquatic physical therapy uses hydrodynamics to provide opportunities for greater mobility and independence than a child may be able to experience on land. Pool-based therapy supports land-based goals and is a great environment to treat deficits in strength, range of motion, coordination, pain, balance, proprioception, and dyspnea (difficulty breathing). It also introduces the child to an activity that allows for life-long participation.
